ENROLLMENT

NLA partners with Christian parents desiring to enhance or extend home education.  Significant parent involvement is vital to student success.  We require that families perform the supervision and extension of class instruction, actively attend a local church, and be registered with an umbrella school under the Tennessee Home Schoolers Law. NLA will not admit new students after the first day of class.  NLA administrators reserve the right to accept or deny enrollment. NLA does not provide enrollment to students whose educational, social, and physical needs cannot be met by our existing program, services, or staff.  

Enrollment for the upcoming academic year begins in February.  Prior to accepting new families, NLA board members will schedule a meeting to discuss details of our program, parent requirements, tour the facility, and answer any questions you may have. Students in 7th-12th grades are required to attend, as well as one parent.  Children are welcome.  If you are interested in scheduling a prospective member meeting, please e-mail us your name, student's grade, and contact information at contactnla@gmail.com.

Enrollment & Class Fees

• Enrollment Fees: Families will pay a $280 registration fee per family.  In addition, all families are required to participate in one fundraiser presented or pay the equivalent earnings.  

• MTHEA:  All NLA members must obtain membership with Middle Tennessee Home Education Association (MTHEA).  NLA partners with MTHEA to provide us with tax-exempt status.  This annual fee is currently $35 and will also provide you with a member card and monthly newsletter, Jonathan’s Arrow, which is filled with information from the home school happenings in middle Tennessee.  You may visit www.MTHEA.org for more information.

• Class Fees: Classes are 30 weeks in length.  Payment is $240/per yr. for 1-hour classes and $310/per yr. for 1-1⁄2-hour classes. Materials, books, and supply fees will be an additional cost.  Some classes may be more or less, depending on the nature of the class (i.e., private instruction).  Our 3-hour kindergarten program is $800/yr. payable by the month or semester.

• Payment Options:  Payment for classes may be paid by semester or monthly by check payable to the tutor-teacher or cash.  There will be a service charge equivalent to the bank charges for any returned check.    

All enrollment fees and payments are NON-REFUNDABLE.  We are making a yearly commitment to each other and to our tutor-teachers. Class fees will not be returned for withdrawal or dismissal.
